On August 17, Ferry County voters will have the opportunity to vote in several national, state and local races where it is necessary to winnow the field of candidates down to two. Locally, there are two races where voters will select from three or more candidates: PUD Commissioner District #1 (mostly Republic) and County Commissioner District #2 (Curlew, Malo, Danville, Laurier, Orient). The top two vote recipients in these races, regardless of party, will advance to the general election in November. For more information about the top-two primary, see County Auditor Dianna Galvan's article here.

The Ferry County View asked candidates for these two primary races to submit a statement and photograph--at no cost to the campaign--so that our readers could make a more informed decision as they mail their ballots later this month and early next month. Following are the statements we received, followed by a link to the candidate's statement.
